Vinterra
About us
Our story
Winter wear for people who would rather be outside.
Vinterra started in 2014 in a rented unit in Aspen, with one pattern cutter, two ski guides and a jacket that kept failing at the cuffs. Today we are a small team of designers, machinists and repairers, making shells, down and wool that are tested for a full season before they go on sale, and mended for as long as you own them.

Tested
Every piece spends a full winter on working mountain guides before it reaches the shop.
Honest materials
Traceable down, recycled shell fabrics and merino from farms we can name.
Mended, not binned
Zips, cuffs, seams and down: the studio repairs anything we have ever made.
How a jacket is made
Design. Test. Build. Repair.
Step 1Design
Each season starts with the guides' notes: what leaked, what rubbed, what they never took off.
Step 2Test
Prototypes go up the mountain for a full winter. Most come back with a list.
Step 3Make
Seams are taped, zips are bonded and every jacket is checked by hand before it is packed.
Step 4Mend
When something wears out, it comes back to the bench instead of going in the bin.
