How we count the numbers on every bowl

Calories and protein sit on every card. Here is how they are worked out, and how far to trust them.

Every dish on our menu shows calories and protein before you open it. We think numbers only help if you know where they come from.

Recipes first

Each recipe is written in grams. The figures come from standard food-composition tables for each ingredient, added up for a Regular portion with its default dressing.

Weighed, not guessed

Grains, proteins and dressings are weighed as each bowl is built. A scoop of rice that is 20 g heavy changes the total, so the scale stays on the line.

Treat the numbers as close estimates. An avocado does not read the label.

What changes them

A Large portion scales the bowl up. Swapping the dressing can move a bowl by 40 to 90 kcal. The build-your-bowl tool adds up your own choices as you go.
