About Verdelle
Why we started
Verdelle began in 2014 with one polyhouse and a simple frustration: plants bought online arrived tired, root-bound and with no advice at all. We decided to grow our own, slowly, and to send each one with a care card written by the person who raised it. Twelve years on we grow more than two hundred varieties across two greenhouses, and the care card still goes in every box.
Every plant is propagated or grown on in our own greenhouse for at least twelve weeks. It is repotted into fresh mix, checked for pests three times and hardened off outside the misting bay, so it is ready for the drier air of a home. On dispatch day it is watered, sleeved and packed upright in a box built for its height.

A terrace in Indiranagar
Verdelle begins as a weekend plant stall on a rented terrace, with forty pots and a hand-painted sign.
- 2016
The first nursery
We open the Indiranagar nursery, with a potting bench where customers can repot what they buy.
- 2018
The Whitefield greenhouse
A one-acre greenhouse lets us grow our own stock instead of buying it in.
- 2020
Plants by post
We design a ventilated box that keeps a plant upright in transit and start delivering across India.
- 2023
Five cities
Garden centres open in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai, each with its own plant doctor.
- 2026
Garden consultations
We launch plant doctor calls, balcony makeovers and garden design for homes and offices.
