Gentle bathing, simple moisturising and nappy changes. Less is usually more for delicate skin.

A baby's skin is thinner and more delicate than an adult's, so it loses moisture quickly and reacts easily. The good news is that a simple, gentle routine is usually all it needs.
Keep baths short and lukewarm
A few minutes in lukewarm water is enough. Use a mild cleanser made for babies, and only where needed. Pat the skin dry with a soft towel instead of rubbing, paying attention to skin folds.
Moisturise after the bath
Applying a gentle, fragrance-free lotion while the skin is still slightly damp helps hold in moisture. In dry weather or air conditioning you may want to apply it more than once a day.
Nappy area care
Change nappies often and clean the area gently with water or mild wipes. Let the skin dry fully before putting on a fresh nappy. A little nappy-free time each day can help too.
Choose soft fabrics and fewer products
Dress your baby in soft, breathable cotton and wash new clothes before first use. Introduce one new product at a time so you can spot anything that does not suit your baby's skin.
If you notice a rash that does not settle, or anything that worries you, get it checked. For advice that fits your own baby, speak to a Medora pharmacist or your paediatrician.
