Every week
Rinse taps and shower trims with clean water and wipe them dry with a soft cloth. That one habit prevents almost all limescale marks.
Every month
Rub the silicone nozzles on your shower head with a thumb to break up deposits. Clean glass with a squeegee and a little dish soap.
Every three months
Unscrew the aerator at the tip of each faucet, rinse out the grit and refit it.
Every year
Have a technician check water heater anodes, cistern seals and thermostatic cartridges.
What never to use
Acid cleaners, bleach and scouring pads. They strip the protective layer from any finish.
