Aerators, dual flush and sensors can halve a bathroom's water use. None of them make the shower feel weaker.

A typical Indian household uses more than half its water in the bathroom. Most of that can be saved without changing a single habit.
Aerated faucets
An aerator mixes air into the stream. A 5 litre a minute faucet feels as full as an old 12 litre one, and it splashes less.
Dual-flush cisterns
A 4/2 litre dual flush uses about a third of the water of an old single-flush cistern. Over a year, that is tens of thousands of litres for a family of four.
Air-mixed showers
Rain showers that draw in air give large, soft drops at 9 litres a minute.
Sensor faucets
In busy bathrooms, a sensor faucet cuts use by up to 70 per cent, simply because it never gets left running.
Where to start
If you change one thing, change the cistern. It is the biggest single saving.
