The piece

Small case pieces are where shortcuts usually hide. This one has a solid oak carcass, dovetailed drawer boxes, and a back panel that is let into a groove rather than pinned on.

The drawer fronts are cut from a single board and split, so the grain runs continuously across both when the drawers are closed.

Materials & care

Solid European oak, oil finished. Dovetailed oak drawer boxes on soft-close runners. Recessed oak back panel.

Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid placing directly against a radiator, which will open the joints over time.
