Three days of white: the coffee blossom
Once a year, after the first March shower, the whole estate flowers at once. It lasts three days.

Nine days after the first good shower of March, the coffee flowers. Not a few plants, but every plant on the estate, on the same morning. The rows turn white and the valley smells of jasmine and honey.
The blossom lasts about three days. Bees arrive from every hive in the district, and so do the planters from neighbouring estates, who walk the rows in the evening to guess the size of next year's crop.
If your dates are flexible, ask us in early March. We watch the clouds and can usually give you a week's notice.
