Twelve birds you will hear before you see
A field guide by ear to the estate's dawn chorus.

The Malabar whistling thrush is called the whistling schoolboy, because its song sounds like a boy who cannot quite remember a tune. You will hear it on the stream before it is light.
The great hornbill sounds like a steam engine when it flies. The racket-tailed drongo can imitate almost anything, including our kitchen's pressure cooker.
Our naturalist keeps a list of 143 species seen on the estate. Join a dawn birding walk and help us find the 144th.
