Interior design studio · Mumbai and Bengaluru
We plan, design and build calm homes that age well, from a single room to a whole villa, with a fixed fee and one designer from start to finish.

Our philosophy

Founder and principal designer
We start with how you live: where the light falls at eight in the morning, where the shoes pile up, who cooks and who reads.
Then we design around it with honest materials, a short palette and furniture made to last. The result is warm, quiet and very easy to keep.
Selected work
Six recent projects across India, from a sea-facing flat in Bandra to a stone villa in Goa.

A 1980s three-bedroom reworked around the sea view, with soft greens, oak and a gallery wall for a family of collectors.

A weekend villa in laterite and lime, where rooms open to the garden and every surface is chosen to welcome the rain.

A deep-charcoal library and work room with oak shelving, brass hardware and a desk built for long writing days.

A soft-minimal penthouse in ivory, travertine and boucle, designed around long dinners and an eight-seat table.
Why Oriel & Stone
One designer, start to finish
The person you meet on the first call is the person who signs off your last cushion.
Fixed fees, written down
Design fees are agreed before we start, and every supplier quote is shared with you at cost.

Made by Indian workshops
Joinery, stone and textiles come from makers we have worked with for years, across eleven states.
Built to be lived in
Materials are chosen for monsoon damp, hard water and daily use, not only for the photographs.
Kind words
“They listened more than they talked. The apartment now looks like us, only better organised.”
“Eleven months, one monsoon and not a single surprise invoice. That alone is rare.”
“The e-design package gave us drawings our carpenter could follow on day one.”
“My study is the quietest room in Delhi. I have no idea how they did the acoustics.”
“At seventy-two I finally have a kitchen that fits my hands and my recipes.”
“The 90-minute consultation alone saved us from a very expensive layout mistake.”
“Calm on Monday, glamorous on Saturday. Exactly the brief, exactly the result.”
“Our suite feels like a boutique hotel, and the lighting scenes are pure magic.”
