Anatomy of a jean

Nine detailsyou can feel.

Scroll down the No.01 Straight. Every part is something we chose, tested on the bench and stand behind for life.

No.01 Straight · Raw Selvedge · 13.5 oz

  1. Two-ply, cut on the straight grain so it never rolls or twists.

  2. Undyed veg-tan leather. Darkens with you, no logo stamped in.

  3. Hand-set at every stress corner of the front pockets.

  4. Selvedge-lined, big enough for a key or a lighter.

  5. Five brass shanks. Breaks in, never breaks.

  6. Thirty-two stitches holding the crotch and the fly together.

  7. The self-finished edge of the cloth, red ID line and all. Shows when you cuff.

  8. Two rows of stitching through four layers of cloth.

  9. Sewn on a vintage chain-stitcher so it ropes after a few washes.

I sent my No.01s back after two years with a blown crotch. They came back darned so neatly I had to look twice, and the fades were untouched. That repair is the reason I will never buy jeans anywhere else.
Theo LindqvistWears the No.01 Straight, Raw
“I am 158 cm and every wide leg I buy drags on the floor. Marlowe asked for my inseam at checkout and hemmed the W-03 to 28 inches for nothing. First pair of jeans that fit me straight out of the box.”
Jada OkonkwoWears the W-03 Wide Leg
“The fit finder asked three questions and told me Barrel, 26, hem at 28. I was sceptical. It was exactly right, and the cropped trucker sits perfectly on top.”
Mina SatoWears the W-02 Barrel
