Shoulder seam, sleeve length and where the hem lands. A two-minute check before you choose a size.

A heavyweight tee holds its own shape, so the fit matters more than it does with thin jersey.
Start at the shoulder
On a straight fit the seam should sit at the edge of your shoulder bone. On a boxy fit it is designed to drop two or three centimetres past it.
Check the sleeve
The sleeve should end around the middle of your bicep and stand slightly away from the arm. If it grips, size up.
Look at the hem
The hem should land around the middle of your fly. Any longer and a heavy tee starts to look like a tunic.
If you are between sizes, take the larger one. Dense cotton looks better with room.
