Spare thread in every pocket, free repairs for life, and a visible stitch when a piece has earned one.
Every Studio Kōen piece leaves the atelier with a small card, spare buttons and a length of matching thread. We would rather you kept a coat for ten years than bought a new one.
Send it back
If a seam opens or a button goes, post it to the atelier. We repair seams, hems and buttons for free, for as long as you own the piece.
A visible mend
For worn elbows and small tears we use sashiko, a running stitch in undyed cotton. The repair shows, and we think it should.
What we cannot fix
Moth damage to knitwear can usually be darned, but very large holes need a patch. We will always tell you before we start and send a photograph of the result.
