Each disc is cut, domed slightly and hammered by hand, so the surface catches light in small, uneven facets. The back is left smooth for engraving: a date, initials, a set of coordinates.

The hammered finish is subtle and the engraving on the back is crisp. I chose the 18 inch chain and it sits just below the collarbone.
