Peaks Island

Peaks Island is a short ferry ride from the Old Port but feels a world away. There are few cars, a loop road that makes a lovely walk or cycle, and rocky coves on the back shore.

Around a thousand people live here year-round, with a school, a library and a small village near the ferry landing.

Homes are mostly cottages and shingled houses, many with water views, and they are sought after by buyers who want a slower pace without giving up the city.
