Afterimage
Caught between who you were and who remains
Long exposures, light drawn by hand and portraits that refuse to hold one face.
During a winter residency I gave myself one rule: the camera never closes before the subject moves. Every portrait in Afterimage is at least two seconds long.
The results are double, sometimes triple people. Visitors to the final show were asked to stand in the same light and were photographed the same way, so the exhibition grew by 300 portraits in three weeks.
