Inside the Friday crit

The Friday crit is the oldest ritual at Voltface. Every piece of work from the week goes up on the wall: printed, pinned, no screens. Then we talk about it for an hour.

There are three rules. Talk about the work, not the person. Say what you would change, not only what you dislike. And the person who made it speaks last.

It sounds harsh. It is actually the kindest thing we do. Work that survives the crit rarely gets torn apart by a client, and junior designers learn faster in one Friday than in a month of polite feedback.
