Smooth scroll without the seasickness

How I add inertia, parallax and reveals to a site while keeping it fast, accessible and calm.

Smooth scrolling is the most requested and most abused effect on portfolio sites.

Animate transform and opacity only

Anything that touches layout will drop frames on a phone. I keep every scroll effect on transform and opacity.

Respect reduced motion

If someone has asked their operating system for less motion, the site should listen. Every reveal on this site turns off.

Content first

Text should be readable even if the JavaScript never runs. Reveals are a bonus, never a gate.
