A studio built around one patient day
Kilnroom is a small pottery studio in Indiranagar run by ceramicist Nandini Rao. We teach one group at a time and fire everything you make.

Founder & lead ceramicist
“Clay keeps a record of every touch. I want you to leave with something that remembers you.”
Nandini trained for six years in a Lisbon azulejo and stoneware workshop before bringing her wheel home to Bengaluru. She opened Kilnroom in 2019 so that beginners could feel what she felt the first time clay centred under her hands — calm, focus and a small, stubborn joy.
From Lisbon to 12th Main
First pull
A weekend class in Lisbon turns into six years at a stoneware workshop in Alfama.
Back to Bengaluru
One wheel, one kiln and four students a week in a rented Indiranagar room.
Kilnroom grows up
The studio moves to 12th Main: six wheels, two kilns and a glaze wall.
Eight seats a day
Small groups, one patient day, and pieces that leave with their makers.
Notes from the wheel
“I centred a lump of clay for the first time and actually gasped. Came home with two cups I use every day.”
Beginner Wheel Day
“Calmest Saturday I've had all year. Nandini makes you feel like you can't get it wrong.”
Beginner Wheel Day
“We booked the studio for our team offsite. Eight designers, zero laptops, sixteen wonky bowls. Perfect.”
Private session
“The weekend intensive finally fixed my trimming. Worth every rupee.”

“Took my daughter to the hand-building morning. She hasn't stopped talking about her coil vase.”
