Le savoir-faire
Every frame passes through the same hands from the acetate block to the final polish. It is slow on purpose: it is the only way to make something worth keeping.
The front is cut once from a block of cellulose acetate, then bevelled by hand so the lens edge disappears.
Seventy-two hours in wood and pumice, then a final polish on a cotton wheel until the edges glow like glass.
Hinges are pinned, bridges warmed and bent, and our lozenge rivet is set by hand — the Maison's signature.
