What to book first, and what can safely wait until the last month.

Most of a wedding is decided by three early choices: the date, the venue and the guest count.
Twelve to nine months
Fix the date and the venue. Popular winter weekends go a year ahead.
Nine to four months
Book catering, photography and design. Hold your tasting once the menu direction is clear.
The last month
Confirm the final guest count, seating and the run of show. Then hand it all to your coordinator and stop checking your phone.
