Balcão Room

Lime-washed laterite walls, indigo shutters and a deep balcão that opens onto the frangipani garden.

Our four Balcão Rooms sit along the old cloister of the house, each with its own covered porch in the Goan way: a built-in stone bench, two planter's chairs and a ceiling fan turning above a view of frangipani and areca palms.

Inside, the walls are hand-finished laterite washed in lime, the floors are oxide red, and the bed is dressed in Kerala cotton under a soft canopy. The bathroom has a rain shower open to a small walled garden.
