About us

People on our team
Northlight began in 1984 with one walk-up in Old Harbour. Four decades on we own and run more than eighty buildings, and we still lease every home ourselves.
Our vision
We want every Northlight building to be the best-kept on its block: warm, quiet, well run and fairly priced.
Our approach
We buy and build for the long term, fix what matters first, and put our own people, not brokers or contractors, between residents and the building.

Long-term owners
We have never sold a building we restored. Holding for decades lets us spend where it counts.
Hands-on management
Supers live on site, repairs are booked from your account, and the leasing team answers its own phone.
Neighbourhood partners
We fund street trees, school programmes and local food banks in every district we work in.
Homes for everyone
One in five of our homes is income-restricted, and we keep building more.

Founding principle
“A building is only as good as the people who look after it. That has been our whole business plan for forty years.”
Our team
Leasing agents, supers, engineers and planners: 350 people who keep Merriton's homes running.
