Every graphic we sell starts as a film positive and a mesh screen coated in emulsion. The screen is exposed, washed out and taped. That takes an afternoon before a single tee is printed.
One pull at a time
We use water-based ink. It soaks into the cotton instead of sitting on top, so the print feels like the fabric and does not crack along the folds. It is slower to work with, because it dries in the screen if you stop.
A good pull sounds like a zip. A bad one sounds like nothing.
Curing
Each tee goes through a tunnel dryer at 160 degrees for ninety seconds. Under-cured prints wash out, so we test one tee from every batch by washing it five times before the rest are packed.
That is the whole process. It is why a run is 300 pieces, not 3,000.
