Most patients stand with support on the day of surgery and walk with a walker the next day. The first two weeks are about controlling swelling and getting the knee to bend to 90 degrees.
By week four, most people walk short distances with a stick. Stairs come next. By week six to eight, most are back to driving and daily routines.
The single biggest factor in a good result is doing the exercises every day, even when the knee feels stiff.
