From mantilla to cathedral — a few notes on the oldest piece of bridal dress and how to choose yours.

The veil is older than the white gown by centuries. It has meant modesty, protection and, mostly, ceremony — the lifting of it is still one of the most photographed seconds of the day.

Lengths, simply

Shoulder and elbow veils are playful. Fingertip is the most versatile. Chapel and cathedral make the walk down the aisle an event.

Lace or plain

A lace edge frames the face like the Clémence mantilla. Plain tulle lets a detailed gown speak.

We always finish the last fitting with the veil, because that is when brides tend to see themselves for the first time.
