Alterations are part of buying tailoring. Knowing what is possible helps you choose the right size in the first place.
Easy
Sleeve length, up to about 3 cm either way. Trouser hems, in any direction, as long as there is cloth to let down. Trouser waists, in or out by up to 4 cm.
Possible, with care
Taking in the waist of a jacket. Tapering a trouser leg. Shortening a jacket by a centimetre or two, although it changes where the pockets sit.
Not worth attempting
Narrowing or widening the shoulders. Lengthening a jacket. Changing the rise of a trouser.
Choose the size that fits your shoulders and seat. Everything else can be moved.
How ours works
The first alteration to sleeve, hem or waist is free within 30 days of delivery. Tell us the measurement you want, send the garment back, and it returns within a week. Once a garment has been altered it can no longer be returned for a refund.
