Cold water, inside out and never the dryer. Five habits that keep cotton soft and colours true.

Wash cold. Hot water is what fades colour and shrinks cotton, not the detergent.
Turn every tee inside out, especially prints. The outside face rubs against the drum far less.
Skip the dryer. Hang tees from the hem, not the shoulders, so the collar keeps its shape.
Use less detergent than the bottle suggests. Residue is what makes cotton feel stiff.
Fold, do not hang, your heavyweight tees. Their own weight stretches the shoulders on a hanger.
