The maison

Why we started
Orlaine began at a single bench in Johari Bazaar, with a goldsmith who had spent thirty years making other people's designs. The idea was simple: fine jewellery light enough to wear every day, made by people who are named and paid properly, and sold with every certificate in the box. We still make each piece to order, and we still know who made it.

A piece is drawn by hand, carved in wax and cast in gold alloyed in our own workshop. The same goldsmith then files, sets and polishes it, and stamps a maker's mark beside the hallmark. Before it leaves, every stone is checked under a loupe and every clasp is tested fifty times.
