Our studio

Why we started
Halden began at one bench in Aarhus: an optician who was tired of frames that slid down the nose, and a designer who wanted to build something lighter. We still work that way. A small team, a short list of materials we trust, and every pair fitted to the face that will wear it.

Each front is milled from laminated acetate, then bevelled, pinned and bent by hand before 72 hours tumbling in birch chips and pumice. Metal frames are cut from beta-titanium and brushed, never plated. It is slow on purpose. It is the only way to make a pair that feels like nothing at all.
