Painted, cutand wrapped by hand
A studio with a window onto a rambling rose.
Ophelia Rose began with a single watercolour of the dog roses climbing the wall outside our studio. We wanted a dress that felt like that morning: soft, a little wild and entirely romantic. So we paint our own prints, cut every dress in three lengths and finish each piece by hand, for garden parties, weddings and long Sunday brunches.
the studio, early morningWhat we believe
Three small promises
Painted by hand
Every print begins as a watercolour on our studio table, painted from flowers picked that morning.
Cut in your length
Petite, Regular and Tall patterns, so the waist sits right and the hem falls just above your shoes.
Made to be kept
Natural fibres, French seams and covered buttons. Dresses you will wear for years, not a season.
How a dress is made
Paint, Cut, Finish, Wrap.
01Paint
Flowers are pressed, then painted again and again until the colour feels like the garden at first light.
02Cut
Our pattern cutters draft each dress three times: Petite, Regular and Tall.
03Finish
Hems, cuffs and tiny bows are finished by hand in the studio before every piece is pressed.
04Wrap
Tissue, a ribbon and a pressed flower. Your parcel should feel like a gift, even when it is for you.
