How to plan a mehendi that does not run late

Henna takes longer than anyone thinks. Here is the timeline we use for a relaxed, on-time afternoon.

The bride's henna alone takes three to four hours. Start there and plan outwards.

Book enough artists

One artist for the bride, and one for every twelve guests who want henna.

Feed people early

Chaat and cold drinks from the first hour, a proper meal before sunset.

Protect the photos

Schedule portraits while the henna is still dark and fresh, before the dancing starts.
